New Hampshire’s Lake House At Ferry Point Review

Lake House at Ferry Point is located on the shore of Lake Winnisquam in New Hampshire. This bed and breakfast is a short drive from Laconia, New Hampshire. This is the only lakefront bed and breakfast in New Hampshire’s lake region.

Larry and I spend a relaxing long weekend at the Lake House at Ferry Point. So here I will be providing an in-depth review of our stay, the pros & cons, and all the must-knows of staying here.

Everything you must know about The Lake House at Ferry Point

This quiet, scenic property has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The Inn has idyllic views of Lake Winnisquam and of the guardian mountains in the distance. The bed and breakfast allows you to relax on a big front porch or enjoy all the surrounding area has to offer.

Mostly this cozy inn has an incredible breakfast. The comfortable ambiance and warm hospitality will make you want to stay forever. Just in case it wasn’t homey enough, the bedding envelopes you in the warmest, softest sleep you’ll ever experience.

What are the rooms like?

The Lake House at Ferry Point features 10 splendid rooms. We stayed in Wentworth Lake Room. It is the only room on the first floor and is tucked behind the living room. It had one of the most comfortable beds ever. We got in and immediately took a nap.

Each room is immaculately decorated for the utmost comfort and relaxation. Seven of the rooms have en-suite bathrooms. Several of the upstairs rooms have expansive views of the lake. You get to wake up with the smell of coffee and a glorious sunrise. The whole house has free wi-fi.

What is breakfast like at this Bed and Breakfast?

Breakfast is served from 8:00-9:30 am. Breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking Lake Winnisquam. When you check in you’ll be asked about your breakfast preferences for the next morning. For breakfast, we got a fresh fruit yogurt parfait, delicious coffee, and homemade french toast.

Coffee and tea are available at all hours to enjoy in your guest room, dining room, fireside in the cozy living room, or outdoors on the front porch, gazebo, or gardens, enjoying the beautiful views of the lake.

The Lake House at Ferry Point does pride itself in procuring the freshest, local ingredients. The maple syrup comes from the maple house down the street! They even have constantly fresh-baked cookies from local bakeries.

What is there to do near The Lake House at Ferry Point?

Locally near The Lake House at Ferry Point there isn’t much to do. You can enjoy Lake Winnisquam in the summer and all the summer activities it has to offer. In order to get some more activities you’ll have to drive a little ways away.

Fall

In the fall there are many leaf-peeping opportunities. Definitely take advantage of the Fall Foliage Trains in the area. You can also take a drive along the scenic Kancamgus Byway.

Winter

Of course, you can hit the slopes for some fun New England Skiing. If skiing isn’t your thing head to Prescott Farm for snowshoeing or even some Maple tapping. For a uniquely New Hampshire activity, head to the sled dog races in January or February.

Spring

In March and April, you can head to Prescott Farm for some maple tapping and sugaring. There are also some incredible waterfalls in the area that are worth exploring. As it warms up and the flowers bloom, you can relax by the lake and enjoy some water activities.

Summer

In the summer there are lots of outdoor activities! Especially since the Inn has its own private boat dock. You can strike out on the lake and kayak.

When is the best time to visit?

It really depends on what you want to do. During winter you might like the Lake House as a getaway from skiing or from the city for a quiet weekend. During the summer the Lake House is buzzing with summer activities. Head to the lake for kayaking!

Is Lake House at Ferry Point good for a romantic getaway?

Definitely! Between the beautiful scenic drives, the sunset lake cruises, and some local romantic restaurants this Lake Bed and Breakfast has everything to offer for a romantic getaway. The Inn itself has wonderfully comfortable beds, ample space, and a romantic fireplace. Some of the rooms also feature 2-person hot tubs. For some added romance there’s a local spa that offers couples massages.

The Bed and Breakfast is romantic on its own as well. The living room offers a cozy fireplace. There are also several board games to play. There is even a puzzle you can work on while relaxing. The slower pace of life leads to more romance because you can focus on each other rather than all the other distractions a city offers!

In Conclusion – Is it worth visiting this New Hampshire bed and Breakfast?

Absolutely!! This Bed and Breakfast is worth staying at when you need a getaway. Given that it’s not a far drive from Boston, it’s easily accessible. Enjoy a long weekend with your partner for a romantic getaway. Or a necessary relaxing weekend.
