We used the definition of a small town to be any town with less than a population of 25,000 people as of the last census. Many of these small towns have very connected residents and aren’t usually crowded with tourists. This means that you won’t spend a lot of time waiting in line. You won’t be overcharged for things as a tourist. And you’ll get to see the slower side of life and meet some of the most amazing people.
Concord, MA
Concord, MA is a beautiful and historic town located just 20 miles outside of Boston. It was the site of the first battle of the American Revolution, and is home to many important landmarks such as the Old North Bridge and the Concord Museum. Walden Pond in Concord, MA is one of the most serene and peaceful places I have ever been to. It’s no wonder that it was the inspiration for Henry David Thoreau’s famous book, Walden. The calm blue waters and surrounding forest create a sense of tranquility that is hard to find in today’s fast-paced world.
